Albanian Orthodox Paranormal Belief
Albanian Orthodox Paranormal Belief is the same as mainstream Christian paranormal belief that it is forbidden that believers attempt contact with malevolent spirits that pretend to be spirits of the dead, as stated in Deuteronomy 18:11 and that the dead should not have contact with the living as stated in Luke 16:19-31. It is believed that this contact results in contact with spirits that are not of the dead but malevolent spirits which are deceitful and pretending to be such and as such are commanded by Satan and are named as demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits. It is believed that these spirits are familiar with the recent dead and is the reason why they have knowledge with intimate name details, places, situations and circumstances. In the bible this is referred to as a familiar spirit, Isaiah 29:4. Albanian Orthodox paranormal belief that the plan of demon spirits to i become interested in all that they do especially the wonders they seem to b e able to perform and thus affect people and move them away from their relationship with God. Often those interested in the paranormal including ghosts and end up experimenting with other activities such as Ouija boards, tarot cards, astrology, fortune telling etc. The search for spirituality often results in delving deeper into the occult which results in an ever increasing downward slope into the occult. As stated in the bible it is believed that Satan will have then "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4). Albanian Orthodox paranormal belief is that Christians believe in God and in the Devil and believe that God is stronger than the Devil. God created everything that is perfect, and anything that Satan created is not perfect. It is quite clear then that sin itself would have been created by Satan, and not God, it is also then quite clear that God can do anything-God is perfection. God is love. The Albanian Orthodox Religion is more properly referred to as the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania. An autocephalous church is one that appoints it's head without precedence. It is an independent church founded by Theofan Stilian Noli and became independent in 1922. As such it's independence was recognized in 1937 by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. It's existing primate is the Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania Anatasios Yannoulatos. He is head quartered in Tirana, Albania with 700,000 recognized adherents. The church went underground when in 1967 the communists declared Albania an atheist state, however in 1991 freedom was restored and the church reinstated. The church is overseen by the Holy Synod of Bishops which was established in 1998. There are currently six bishops as the seventh died in 2000. Christianity arrived in Albania in the 4th century but after their conquest by the Turks in the 15th century many became Muslim. Under later Ottoman rule the remaining orthodox population integrated under the Patriarchate of Constantinople. While most parishes use Albanian, Greek is also used in ethically mixed areas, where Greek or Vlach may be the dominant language. For this reason the religion has also been referred to as the Greek Orthodox Church of Albania. Religious Paranormal Belief
