Armenian Apostolic Paranormal Belief
The Armenian Apostolic paranormal belief because it is a Christian denomination believe that it is forbidden that believers attempt contact with malevolent spirits that pretend to be spirits of the dead, and that the dead should not have contact with the living as stated in Luke 16:19-31. It is believed that this contact results in contact with spirits that are not of the dead but malevolent spirits which are deceitful and pretending to be such and as such are commanded by Satan and are named as demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits. It is believed that these spirits are familiar with the recent dead and is the reason why they have knowledge with intimate name details, places, situations and circumstances. In the bible this is referred to as a familiar spirit, Isaiah 29:4. Within Armenian Apostolic Paranormal belief it is believed by Christians that the plan of demon spirits to become interested in all that they do especially the wonders they seem to b e able to perform and thus affect people and move them away from their relationship with God. Often those interested in the paranormal including ghosts and end up experimenting with other activities such as Ouija boards, tarot cards, astrology, fortune telling etc. The search for spirituality often results in delving deeper into the occult which results in an ever increasing downward slope into the occult. As stated in the bible it is believed that Satan will have then "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4). Christians believe in God and in the Devil and believe that God is stronger than the Devil God created everything that is perfect, and anything that Satan created is not perfect. It is quite clear then that sin itself would have been created by Satan, and not God, it is also then quite clear that God can do anything-God is perfection. God is love. Satan is not. The Armenian Apostolic Church is more properly known as the One Holy Universal Apostolic Orthodox Armenian Church and sometimes referred to as the Georgian Church. Georgian Church is not preferred by the faithful as it holds that the founders are the Apostles Bartholomew and Thaddeus and St Gregory as the first official head of the church. The church originated with the missions of Bartholomew and Thaddeus in the 1st century and was recognized by Armenia as the official religion of the state in 301 AD. It was the first country to accept Christianity as a state religion. The church has in excess of 8,000,000 adherents and the primate is known as the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. Apostolic succession is very important for this church and the martyrdom of these apostles considered as religious truths. Tradition states that both Bartholomew and Thaddeus were martyred.
