Dutch Reform Paranormal Belief

Dutch Reform Paranormal Belief is based on Calvinist Paranormal belief appear to be of two opinions and believers are free to adhere to either one.

Some believe that the paranormal does not deal with the real world and has no effect on what happens in the real world. Therefore they are of no value, tend to change often and should not be adhered to as if they do exist are probably harmful.

Some follow the traditional Christian Paranormal Belief where it is stated, that is forbidden that believers attempt contact with malevolent spirits that pretend to be spirits of the dead, as stated in Deuteronomy 18:11 and that the dead should not have contact with the living as stated in Luke 16:19-31.

Dutch Reform paranormal belief is this contact results in contact with spirits that are not of the dead but malevolent spirits which are deceitful and pretending to be such and as such are commanded by Satan and are named as demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits.

Dutch Reform paranormal belief is these spirits are familiar with the recent dead and is the reason why they have knowledge with intimate name details, places, situations and circumstances. In the bible this is referred to as a familiar spirit, Isaiah 29:4.

It is believed by Christians that the plan of demon spirits to become interested in all that they do especially the wonders they seem to b e able to perform and thus affect people and move them away from their relationship with God.

Often those interested in the paranormal including ghosts and end up experimenting with other activities such as Ouija boards, tarot cards, astrology, fortune telling etc. The search for spirituality often results in delving deeper into the occult which results in an ever increasing downward slope into the occult.

As stated in the bible it is believed that Satan will have then "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4).

Christians believe in God and in the Devil and believe that God is stronger than the Devil

God created everything that is perfect, and anything that Satan created is not perfect. It is quite clear then that sin itself would have been created by Satan, and not God, it is also then quite clear that God can do anything-God is perfection. God is love.

Satan is not.

The Dutch Reformed Church originated in the 16th century during the time of the Protestant Reformation under the influence of the Calvinistic teachings. At the same time reformed churches holding similar theological views were founded in France, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, England and Scotland.

At this time there are approximately 2 million church adherents.

It never was the Dutch state church, but law demanded that all public officials must be a member of the church.

When the Kingdom of the Netherlands was established in 1815, the church became even more centralized. At this time the new government imposed rules and regulations that put the church under royal control with the church head being appointed by the King until 1852. In 1853 the Church and State became completely separated.

The church remained the largest church in the Netherlands until mid 20th century when it was surpassed by the Roman Catholic Church.

In 2004 the church merged with the Reformed churches and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Netherlands to form the Protestant Church of the Netherlands.
