Eastern Orthodox Paranormal Belief

Eastern Orthodox Paranormal Belief is based on Roman Catholic belief as stated In the Christian bible that is forbidden that believers attempt contact with malevolent spirits that pretend to be spirits of the dead, as stated in Deuteronomy 18:11 and that the dead should not have contact with the living as stated in Luke 16:19-31.

It is believed that this contact results in contact with spirits that are not of the dead but malevolent spirits which are deceitful and pretending to be such and as such are commanded by Satan and are named as demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits.

Eastern Orthodox paranormal belief is that these spirits are familiar with the recent dead and is the reason why they have knowledge with intimate name details, places, situations and circumstances. In the bible this is referred to as a familiar spirit, Isaiah 29:4.

Eastern Orthodox paranormal belief is that the plan of demon spirits to become interested in all that they do especially the wonders they seem to b e able to perform and thus affect people and move them away from their relationship with God.

Often those interested in the paranormal including ghosts and end up experimenting with other activities such as Ouija boards, tarot cards, astrology, fortune telling etc. The search for spirituality often results in delving deeper into the occult which results in an ever increasing downward slope into the occult.

As stated in the bible it is believed that Satan will have then "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4).

Christians believe in God and in the Devil and believe that God is stronger than the Devil.

Christians believe in the rite of exorcism to rid those possessed by evil spirits of said evil spirits This rite must be performed by an ordained priest who is specially trained for this purpose.

God created everything that is perfect, and anything that Satan created is not perfect. It is quite clear then that sin itself would have been created by Satan, and not God, it is also then quite clear that God can do anything-God is perfection. God is love.

Satan is not.

The Eastern Orthodox Religion also known as the Orthodox Catholic Church and is the second largest Christian denomination with an estimated number of adherents at 225 million.

It is considered by its believers to be the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church established by Jesus Christ and his Apostles almost 2,000 years ago. The Church is composed of several self-governing ecclesial bodies, each geographically and nationally distinct but theologically unified.

All Orthodox bishops, Oriental as well as Eastern, trace their lineage back to the Apostles through the process of Apostolic Succession, in the same manner as the Roman Catholic Church. The Orthodox Church traces its development back to the earliest church established by St. Paul and the Apostles. It practices the original ancient traditions, believing in growth without change. Orthodox Christians believe that the ultimate goal of every Christian is to become like God, to love perfectly, to become like Christ within Jesus Christ. This process is called theosis or deification.Eastern Orthodox Christians believe in a God who is both three and one. The Father is the cause or origin of the Godhead, from whom the Son is begotten eternally and also from whom the Holy Spirit proceeds eternally. The Holy Trinity is three, distinct, divine persons without overlap or modality among them, who share one divine essence uncreated, immaterial and eternal. Eastern Orthodox doctrine regarding the Holy Trinity is summarized in the Nicene Creed (Symbol of Faith).
