Falun Gong Paranormal
Falun Gong Paranormal belief is based on both Buddhist and Tao paranormal belief and at first glance appears to be superstition free and offers a rational understanding of the paranormal. In Asian countries and others Buddhists believe in superstition involving amulets for good luck, curses, ghosts and witchcraft that are in fact an accepted part of the faith and practice of such which are mentioned in the early scriptures. Much of Falun Gong paranormal belief came from Hinduism including the idea of troublesome ghosts which are considered a lower reincarnation atoning for bad karma in bad places where they eat bad food which includes corpses. Hungry ghosts are those which are identified by large, extended bellies and small mouths by which they cannot feed their powerful hunger. They are one type of spiritual being included in Buddhist life which includes stories of ghosts who have to eat themselves and were probably not intended to be literally understood. The Buddhist and Tao religion is thought to have evolved from the Hindu religion in that it shares beliefs in karma, dharma and reincarnation. Karma is the total of a person’s actions of body, speech and mind, good, bad and neutral taken in their current and previous lives. The Falun Gong religion also known as Falun Dafa was founded in China in 1992 by Li Hongzhi and is influenced by both Tao and Buddhist beliefs. Its teachings cover spiritual, religious, mystical and metaphysical topics. There is an introductory book that discusses qigong, which introduces the principles and provides illustrations and explanations of the exercises involved in the practice. There are approximately 100 million adherents worldwide with 70 million practioners in China. It differs from competing groups through its absence of daily rituals of worship, its self-consciousness about outside critics, its greater emphasis on morality and the apparently theological nature of its teachings. There is on-going debate about the church classification as a religion, or new religious movement and "cult", a term used by the Chinese government to describe the movement. Since 1999, practitioners in China have been reportedly subject to torture, illegal imprisonment, beatings, forced labour, psychiatric abuses and reported organ harvesting. The faith has responded with their own media campaign, and have emerged as a notable voice of dissent against the Communist Party of China, by founding organizations such as the Epoch Times, NTDTV and the Shen Yun Performing Arts to publicize their cause.
