Lutheran Paranormal Belief
Lutheran Paranormal Belief is similar to Christian paranormal belief where it is stated, that is forbidden that believers attempt contact with malevolent spirits that pretend to be spirits of the dead, as stated in Deuteronomy 18:11 and that the dead should not have contact with the living as stated in Luke 16:19-31. Lutheran paranormal belief is this contact results in contact with spirits that are not of the dead but malevolent spirits which are deceitful and pretending to be such and as such are commanded by Satan and are named as demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits. Lutheran paranormal belief is spirits are familiar with the recent dead and is the reason why they have knowledge with intimate name details, places, situations and circumstances. In the bible this is referred to as a familiar spirit, Isaiah 29:4. Lutheran paranormal belief is the plan of demon spirits to become interested in all that they do especially the wonders they seem to b e able to perform and thus affect people and move them away from their relationship with God. Often those interested in the paranormal including ghosts and end up experimenting with other activities such as Ouija boards, tarot cards, astrology, fortune telling etc. The search for spirituality often results in delving deeper into the occult which results in an ever increasing downward slope into the occult. As stated in the bible it is believed that Satan will have then "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4). Christians believe in God and in the Devil and believe that God is stronger than the Devil. Christians believe in the rite of exorcism to rid those possessed by evil spirits of said evil spirits This rite must be performed by an ordained priest who is specially trained for this purpose. God created everything that is perfect, and anything that Satan created is not perfect. It is quite clear then that sin itself would have been created by Satan, and not God, it is also then quite clear that God can do anything-God is perfection. God is love. Satan is not. The Lutheran Church, or as known Lutheranism, is an offshoot of Western Christianity that followed the teachings of the 16th century German reformer Martin Luther. His efforts to reform the theology and practice of the Roman Catholic Church launched the Protestant Reformation. The reactions of government and church authority to the international spread of his writings, beginning with the 95 theses which divided Western Christianity. The split arose mainly over the doctrine of Justification before God. Lutheranism forwards a doctrine of justification “by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone” which contradicted the Roman Catholic view of “faith formed by love or faith and works”. Lutherans retain many of the liturgical practices and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Lutherans differ from other Reformists in a variety of ways including Christology, the purpose of God’s Law, Divine Grace and whether one is once saved always saved always saved and predestination. The Lutheran hold varying views of the holy bible of the Old and New Testaments. American Lutherans believe the bible is the only divinely inspired book and the only source of divinely revealed knowledge. A study indicated that 30% believe the bible was the word of God and should be taken literally, 40% believe the bible was the word of God, but was not literally true, 23% said the bible was written by men and not the word of God and 7% were unsure.
