Religious Paranormal Belief

This section presents a brief description of the understanding and acceptance of Religious Paranormal Belief as held by the religions of the world, as listed in this Religion Simplified website.

Many religions do not accept the existence of the paranormal and if they do accept it is understood to be an evil and malignant force in the world. For example, the Roman Catholic Church to this day still performs minor and major rites of exorcism to rid a person of being “possessed” by demons. This rite is only performed when all other psychological considerations of the possessed individual have been evaluated. The rite is performed only by clergy who have special training and very strong religious conviction.

My own personal view is that very little interaction that individuals experience with the paranormal are fraught with danger and evil intent. When the existence of spiritual entities are proven I believe that this is further proof of an afterlife and should be accepted by the religions of the world as such. After all these spirits are moving from this earthly reality to another reality and may for various reasons simply not yet “crossed over”.

There people who are much more sensitive to the reality and presence of these spirits than the majority of us. It is my belief that these folk have a “god given” talent much the same as one who is blessed with what is known as a “musical brain”. Why can a small group of people can create and perform music easily and to a level that the rest of us cannot achieve even with hours of practise.

Much of this information may be found in much greater detail on the Internet and in books but my intent is to present a precise and concise explanation of paranormal beliefs of the many different religions.
