Serbian Orthodox Paranormal Belief

Serbian Orthodox Paranormal Belief is based on the principles of the Christian bible where it is stated, that is forbidden that believers attempt contact with malevolent spirits that pretend to be spirits of the dead, as stated in Deuteronomy 18:11 and that the dead should not have contact with the living as stated in Luke 16:19-31.

Serbian Orthodox paranormal belief is this contact results in contact with spirits that are not of the dead but malevolent spirits which are deceitful and pretending to be such and as such are commanded by Satan and are named as demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits.

Serbian Orthodox paranormal belief is these spirits are familiar with the recent dead and is the reason why they have knowledge with intimate name details, places, situations and circumstances. In the bible this is referred to as a familiar spirit, Isaiah 29:4.

Serbian Orthodox paranormal belief is the plan of demon spirits to become interested in all that they do especially the wonders they seem to b e able to perform and thus affect people and move them away from their relationship with God.

Often those interested in the paranormal including ghosts and end up experimenting with other activities such as Ouija boards, tarot cards, astrology, fortune telling etc. The search for spirituality often results in delving deeper into the occult which results in an ever increasing downward slope into the occult.

As stated in the bible it is believed that Satan will have then "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4).

Christians believe in God and in the Devil and believe that God is stronger than the Devil.

Christians believe in the rite of exorcism to rid those possessed by evil spirits of said evil spirits This rite must be performed by an ordained priest who is specially trained for this purpose.

God created everything that is perfect, and anything that Satan created is not perfect. It is quite clear then that sin itself would have been created by Satan, and not God, it is also then quite clear that God can do anything-God is perfection. God is love.

Satan is not.

The Serbian Orthodox Religion also known as the Church of Serbia is an autocephalous Orthodox Christian church. It is the second oldest Slavic Orthodox Church and has authority over Orthodox Christians in Serbia and surrounding Slavic and other lands throughout the world.

Since many Serbs have immigrated to foreign countries, there are now Serbian Orthodox communities worldwide.

It is estimated that there are up to 11 million adherents and it is recognized as being the single largest religion in Serbia and the second largest religion in Bosnia and Herzegovina.The Patriarch of Serbia is the recognized religious head of state.

The highest body of the Church is the Holy assembly of Bishops and consists of the Patriarch, the Metropolitans, Bishops, Archbishop of Ohrid and Vicar Bishops. It meets twice a year in spring and in autumn. The Holy assembly of Bishops makes important decisions for the church's life and elects the patriarch.

The executive body of the Serbian Orthodox Church is the Holy Synod. It consists of six bishops and the patriarch and takes care of the everyday life of the Church. It meets on regular basis.

The Serbian Orthodox Church claims to own many significant Christian relics, such as the right hand of John the Baptist, Saint George's hand and skull parts, Holy Cross segments, St. Paraskevi's finger and body of St. Vasilije of Ostrog.

The Serbs were converted to Christianity not long after their arrival in the Balkans, before the Great Schism split the Christian Church into rival Latin-speaking (Roman Catholic) and Greek-speaking (Eastern Orthodox) Churches. During the early Middle Ages, the religious allegiance of the Serbs was divided between the two churches.

In 1459, the Ottoman Empire conquered Serbia and made much of the former kingdom a pashaluk. Although some Serbs converted to Islam, most continued their adherence to the Serbian Orthodox Church.
