Syro Malabar Paranormal Belief

Syro Malabar Paranormal Belief is based on Christian paranormal belief it is stated, that is forbidden that believers attempt contact with malevolent spirits that pretend to be spirits of the dead, as stated in Deuteronomy 18:11 and that the dead should not have contact with the living as stated in Luke 16:19-31.

Syro Malabar paranormal belief is this contact results in contact with spirits that are not of the dead but malevolent spirits which are deceitful and pretending to be such and as such are commanded by Satan and are named as demons, evil spirits and unclean spirits.

Syro Malabar paranormal belief is these spirits are familiar with the recent dead and is the reason why they have knowledge with intimate name details, places, situations and circumstances. In the bible this is referred to as a familiar spirit, Isaiah 29:4.

Syro Malabar paranormal belief it is the plan of demon spirits to become interested in all that they do especially the wonders they seem to b e able to perform and thus affect people and move them away from their relationship with God.

Often those interested in the paranormal including ghosts and end up experimenting with other activities such as Ouija boards, tarot cards, astrology, fortune telling etc. The search for spirituality often results in delving deeper into the occult which results in an ever increasing downward slope into the occult.

As stated in the bible it is believed that Satan will have then "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4).

Christians believe in God and in the Devil and believe that God is stronger than the Devil.

Christians believe in the rite of exorcism to rid those possessed by evil spirits of said evil spirits This rite must be performed by an ordained priest who is specially trained for this purpose.

God created everything that is perfect, and anything that Satan created is not perfect. It is quite clear then that sin itself would have been created by Satan, and not God, it is also then quite clear that God can do anything-God is perfection. God is love.

Satan is not.

The Syro Malabar Religion is a Catholic Church which is in Full Communion with the Roman Catholic Church. It is one of the 22 Eastern Catholic Churches.

It is the largest of the Saint Thomas Christians denomination with over 4 million believers. It is also the second largest Eastern Catholic Church in communion with the Bishop of Rome. According to tradition, Saint Thomas landed at Kodungalloor (Muziris) in 52 A.D. After preaching and establishing Christian communities in different parts of India, he suffered martyrdom at Mylapur in 72 A.D

Tradition holds that St. Thomas founded seven churches or communities in Kerala; at Kodungalloor, Niranam, Kollam, Chayal, Kottakkavu, Kokkamangalam and Palayoor.

From early centuries the Church of St. Thomas Christians came into life-relation with the Christian communities that came to be known as East Syrian Church This relationship made the St. Thomas Christians share the liturgical, spiritual and other ecclesiastical traditions with the East Syrian Church. Fr.Placid Podipara says in an emblematic writing of his, “They are Hindu or Indian in culture, Christian in religion and Syro-Oriental in worship”.

After being under Chaldean bishops earlier and under Latin Rite Roman Catholic bishops from 1599, St. Thomas Christians got their own dioceses from 1887. They came to be known as the Syro Malabar Catholics from that point on, to differentiate them from the Latin Rite Catholics in Kerala.
